Not every Cepaea colony in the U.S. is native! Only the ones in Newfounland
& perhaps on some islands off Maine(?) may be native. Any Cepaea colonies
further to the south, for example, the known colonies in Virginia, were
definitely introduced. In fact, there was one deliberately introduced
colony of Cepaea in Maryland, although fortunately it appearently got
extinct.
