Products containing ammonia should not be mixed with
bleach; this produces a nerve gas and you could be
charged with possessing a weapon of mass destruction if
you survive the experiment.

Ordinary soap plus bleach is safe, as many people have
noticed while doing laundry.

If you are traveling in Latin America, blanqueador sin chloro
(i.e., whitener without chlorine) is not very effective.  I put a
"Thais" s.l. in some overnight and it was still alive the next
morning.
