Recently, on the Molluscalist, a paper was mentioned published in a
scientific journal which purports that scientists only imagine the reality
around them. I don't usually get on a soapbox, but I have little patience
with superstitious nonsense such as a belief in some fictional "higher"
being and his minions. People can believe whatever they want as long as
they keep it a personal thing and not try to spout their nonsense to
everyone else.

In early August, the Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington
published a review article by Steven M. Meyer of Palm Beach Atlantic
University (a Christian funadmentalist institution) entitled, "The origin of
biological information and the higher taxonomic categories" (PBSW
117:213-239). This article can be read at
http://www.discovery.org/scripts/viewDB/index.php?command=view&id=2177

I consider it totally irrespnsible that a scientific publication would not
take the time to read a submission before publishing it.

Scientists aren't perfect, they go by the evidence presented to them at the
time. As newer evidence presents itself, a good scientist will correct what
was said before. Superstition relies on belief/faith only. Science relies
on hard evidence.
