This species seems to be Rumina decollata. It could be another specie of
Rumina, but if you found it in south of France it's this one.
Rumina species have the particularity to lose whorl after whorl as it grows
up, ending in great variety in height. Juveniles have still their firts
whorls, so they are conical.
