Dear Conchlers,

In our ongoing efforts to unravel the Gordian Knot represented by the genus Fusinus in Japan, Dr Snyder and I are looking for specimens of Fusinus penioniformis Habe, 1970. This is a scarce beast, and although I've examined the type and one or two others here and there, we don't yet have enough data to say much about it. If anyone has some of these shells and they'd be prepared to loan or provide images of them, we'd be most grateful. If you're interested in Fusinus, by the way, part I of this study appeared in Venus 63 (1-2): 13-27, 22 figs; part II is in review at the moment, and parts II and IV are on the way.

Regards,

PC.
