Hi Linda,

I looked at some of the land snail images on Larry's site. Very impressive!

For comparison on about the same scale, with my miniscule knowledge of photography, you can see some of the images on the western Atlantic part of the Jacksonville site such as
http://www.jaxshells.org/106zx.htm

or for lower limits of what I'm able to do, try

(With prolific thanks to Bill Frank and deep gratitude to Harry Lee).

>Larry Watrous, our club president, has been using a digital microscope for Missouri land snails and gets some astonishing results. He has software that lets him take images at a variety of heights and then integrates them into one image, thus giving amazing depth of field. He gave a program at this past COA convention, and showed some of the results during his talk.

Man's attitude toward nature is today critically important simply because we have now acquired a fateful power to alter and destroy nature.
