David,

Triangularis seems to be more habitat than depth related.  In my experience,
it is found in coarse sandy areas with lots of coral rubble.  That list of
specimens I relayed to you represented probably 200+ dives per year over a
15 year span.  Juveniles, which still the chalky white intracalyx, are much
easier to see than more mature specimens which get a bit of growth on them.
Finding those is almost an accident when they are well camouflaged.
