It is not really a matter of being a bibliophile.  In the past I often used
"Linné" but in recent years I have stuck with Linnaeus.  His name was
Carolus Linnaeus and remained that even after he was ennobled.  I think it
rather quodlibetic (try that one on your Funk & Wagnall's) to list one
species as of "Linnaeus, 1758" and another as "Linné, 1767" in the same
work.
