Thanks to those who replied to my question about shelling in Costa
Rica.  Seems that the law is fairly strict, but that it is not always
enforced.....in otherwords, getting shells out of the country by airport
is a "crap shoot" (ie, like "shooting craps" - a dice game of some
sorts).  Shelling is being restricted by eco-fanatics (ie, those who
think that if some protection is good, then going overboard is even
better) in so many countries and juristictions, it is going to be
difficult to continue "worldwide conchology" in the future: there will
be just a couple of nearly-drowned tropical islands sinking under the
waves due to global warming, where collecting anything at all is permitted.
