Since the current rapid warming trend in the world's climate is
predicted to have a major effect (i refuse to use the word "impact" in
such contexts... ;P) on the world's oceans, not to mention all the
other habitats of shell-bearing molluscs, i think that climate change in
general is a legitimate discussion topic in the Shell World".
Accordingly, i would like to invite everyone to a group i'm active in,
which tackles the topic head-on in a variety of ways: effects upon
natural systems from biosphere level down to local habitats, effects
upon our species and societies, debates about various facets of the
problem including its extent, causes and how to best prepare for and
counter it...... i am sure that anyone interested at all in this matter
will find something here for them to learn about, and/or be able to
contribute something to the discussion as well.

A "daily digest" option exists so that one only recieves one additional
email per day as a result of joining the group.

From a sunny early-spring day in New Scotland,
Ross Mayhew.
