Conus connectens Adams and Conus circumactus Iredale are synonyms. The
question is which name is valid. The Compendium of Seashells, Cone Shells by
Walls, and Australian Marine Shells by Wilson all list it as C. connectens.
The latter two books list C. circumactus as a synonym. However, Shells of the
philippines lists it as C. circumactus, with C. connectens as a synonymn.
There is a very nice specimen of this pictured on Bret Raines auction page, at
www.molluscs.net.
