Sorry to come in late, but I was out of town last week.
As has been noted, the book in question is entirely plagarized from a
British publication.  It is not clear whether Poe's name was also stolen as
a marketing ploy or whether he was to some degree in on the scheme.
        This was before the U.S. recognized British copyrights, so pirated
editions of many British publications exist.  I have an entire pirated
1860's Encyclopedia Britannica, for example.  I believe that in most cases
the original author name was retained because that was one of the selling
points.
