Hello all,
I have a simple request which I hope you will consider as light relief
and not an abuse of the list.

I am trying to construct a logo which visually conveys the elegance,
simplicity and geometry of nature. I have long been fascinated by the
shapes of sea shells so I figured that was a good place to look. I dare
say I was right, but I have quickly found myself inundated with seashell
data, images and web pages, with insufficient knowledge to refine my
search criteria to quickly (ie. this lifetime) find the sort of thing I
am looking for. This is the core of my request. Heeelllpp!!!

In order for an image to be useful for my cause I would like it to be:
- simple, yet elegant
- any number of colours (I am prepared to alter / abstract the image as
required)
- royalty free (there's nothing certain, but if it works out well, I
would like to use the logo on an unrestricted basis)

The thousand-word picture which this image should "paint" could include
such adjectives as:
"... precision, geometry, spiral, perfection, simplicity, nature, ..."
You get the drift...

Basically, I would appreciate any help on offer. If you have a
favourite aesthetically beautiful shell, could you please let me know
the Latin name, for example. I am happy to keep digging, but I need a
bit more to go on than I currently have. Additionally, if you know of
any sites where I might find such an image, I would be grateful for
that, too.

Please reply either to the list or, if that is not appropriate, by
return email.

Thanks in anticipation.
Dave Jerrard.
