Dear Carol,
        The Hindu God Shiva is the one who is depicted dancing on one foot with
his many arms arrayed about him holding various things.
        The Jewish custom of watching over/with the dead is pronounced that
way, but I don't think it is spelled the same, and as far as I know, the
two have nothing in common.
