As I beginning collector in Michigan, my access to shells is through the
internet (one of my reasons to get a new computer). A friend put me on to
e-Bay and there I found Audrey from Australia (she sold her whole shell
collection) who told me about www.molluscs.net. From there I found Conch-L,
dealers, ideas, the convention, etc. I know the purpose for conch-L is high
minded academic discussion, but the personal bits are entertaining, conch
wars was great, and if there is a sale going on I want to know about it.
Beginners don't have a lot to contribute but we are LEARNING from the rest.
Nothing is too trivial. [log in to unmask]

I particularly enjoy the mention of web sites & pages that show shells,
offer shells for sale and/or trade, etc.. I keep a record of these sites
for when I have time to "surf" the net, and enjoy my hobby. I hope you all
don't regulate this list to death - I am enjoying it just like it is!
