The Japanese portion of the Talmadge stragglers :
> COLUMBELLIDAE Euplica scripta----------------- Southern Japan
Columbella scripta LAMARCK, 1822
Higo, Callomon & Goto, 1999 : 246, no. G2844
No type locality originally given
Distributed from central Honshu southwards, central Japan Sea westwards,
Philippines to Australia.
> FASCIOLARIIDAE Peristernia spadicea --------Japan
Nothing from Japan under this name; could possibly be Buccinum spadicea
Reeve, 1846 (Higo, Callomon & Goto, 1999 : 236, no. G2687), but this is now
in Siphonalia.
> MURICIDAE Murex hiromiae Kosuge-------- Sakai, Wakayama,
Japan
Not a valid name or not known from Japan. My guess is the former.
Hope it helps.
