Hello Ton and Others,
The Tridanca gigas I had was, come to think of it, was 3.6 feet across not
4.5 feet. It seemed bigger than 3.6 feet, my quick recollection of the size
was wrong. I didn't have a scale to weigh it but my father and I lifted one
half of it, took three steps or four, then put it down. With one half of the
shell near where it was to go, we brought the other half to the same place.
I guess one half weighed as much as a bag of cement.
Lynn, I could write (type) a story for the American Conchologist about
how we uncreated in the parking lot and drove it home in a 1965? Jaguar.
Tom, if I can do it, I can send you a picture of it. All other readers, ALL
shellers have a strange story.
