I have been conversing with friends in Honduras and thought I would pass the
comments.
There is a wide spread blight that is killing off the Palm Trees in Central
America.
If my information is correct, it is a fungus that has turned into a blight
because of the
Changes that Hurricane Mitch left in the area, i.e. - even higher humidity
and dampness
Than is the norm.
They went to their favorite beach in Tella (on the Caribbean side) and all
of the palms were
Completely defoliated. They we as they put it " Just sticks, sticking up in
the air!"
Please let me know what any of you may have heard concerning the spread of
the blight.
Cheers!
