Hi, all you cone specialists!
I need some help. I just received a beautiful cone species from the
Solomons that I have never seen before. It averages about 35mm in size and
looks like a cross between C. floccatus and C. timorensis, leaning more
towards a C. timorensis. It resembles the second C. timorensis illustrated in
"Living Cones", which also states the species has been found outside of the
Indian Ocean; but I have personally never heard of it being found in the
Solomons. Is this something that I just missed seeing in publication before?
Any help or comments would be most appreciated! Thanks!
