Going through the Aldrich material, I have come across a lot labeled
"Scalaria borealis Gld" from Oregon.  According to Turgeon et al. 2nd
ed., borealis Gould in Carpenter, 1864 was nude and validated by Keep,
1881 (citing DuShane, 1979, Veliger 22(2):121-2).
Abbott, 2nd ed., lists what is evidently this species as wroblewskii
Morch, 1876.

borealis "Gould" is a secondary homonym of borealis "Beck" Lyell, 1842
in old classifications that throw Acirsa and Opalia into the same
genus, and may have been incorrectly disregarded on that basis.
However, wroblewskii would be older than borealis "Gould/Carpenter"
Keep, so I'm unsure why Turgeon et al. list it as borealis.  Any
insights?
