2 corrections from my "evolution and other theories" posting: 1) the monkeys lost the first time
around - Scopes was canned!, and 2) they lost this time around as well - the Board of Education in
question in Kansas did indeed ban the teaching of evolutionary theory in K-12 schools (but not
universities- surprise!). It should be noted, however, that in 1987, the Supreme Court of the USA
ruled that it is unconstitutional to teach Creationism in puplic schools, so we don't have to worry
too much about that, unless of course the Republicans end up with all three branches of the US
government next year!
