Once they turn up in Chinese restaurants, the DNA is not in very good
condition. Would anyone in the Gulf Coast region (Perna species have
already invaded elsewhere) be interested in preserving a couple and mailing
them up? Putting the live clam into concentrated ethanol is the easiest
approach.
