Can anyone point me in the right direction i identifying a set of antique
map sheets, copies of which have come into my possession.
The area covered is the Balkans, from the Adriatic to the Black Sea, and
from the Danube-Sava to Southern Albania and Thessalonika, at a scale of
ca. 1:250 000. There are 8 sheets. The prime meridian is around the
Madeira Islands.
The maps are woodcut prints, untitled & anonymous, with no compass rose
or map scale. The language is Greek and the map style is late 16th
century. The map is liberally decorated with drawings of Greek coins and
medallions.
