OLMSTED COUNTY, MINNESOTA DIGITAL ORTHOPHOTO CD-ROM AVAILABLE
A limited number of CD-ROMs that contain 60 digital orthophotoquads of
Olmsted County, Minnesota are available from the U.S. Geological Survey at
no charge. The black-and-white imagery has a pixel resolution of 1 meter.
The CD-ROM contains the digital orthophoto data, image display software, and
documentation. Full resolution and compressed data sets can be viewed on a
DOS-based PC with VGA or SVGA display.
An orthophoto is an aerial photograph that has been processed to remove the
displacement of images caused by camera tilt and terrain. The resulting image
has the same metric properties as a map and uniform scale.
The U.S. Geological Survey invites evaluations of these data. A
questionnaire and return reply envelope are enclosed with the CD-ROM.
