     Enclosed is an International Stolen Art Notice issued by the Interpol
Secretariat General on behalf of Interpol Prague for an atlas that has been
stolen.  Should this item thereon come to your attention, please notify our
office at 202-616-9000.  Be assured of our cooperation in matters of mutual
concern.

Date of Theft:  Between 6th and 12th October 1993
Country:        Czech Republic (from the National Museum in Prague)
 
17th-century, Portuguese atlas entitled "Libro Universal de las Navegaciones
del Mundo con las Demonstraciones de los Puertos Mas Principales del...,"
including hand-painted navigation maps and plans of harbours; the book
consists of 63 pages and has a brown leather cover with the hand-written
inscription: "Ms f 4".
 
Dimensions:     46 x 36 cm.
Value:          DEM 500,000
