----------------------------Original message----------------------------
Season's greetings to you all!
Here's something to think about over Christmas and the New year.
To aid our understanding of our campus GIS environment and to
develope a relevant GIS library service to compliment and support
the work of researchers, and students at the UofAlberta, we want
to survey teaching faculty about their understanding, uses, and needs
for GIS tools, and data.
Has anyone ever surveyed their faculty about "GIS" at any level?
We would be happy to hear opinions from anyone else who
has surveyed faculty on this matter (or thought about it).
What sorts of questions did you ask?
What did you wish you had asked?
What did you learn?, etc., etc.
So far, I have about a dozen questions that run the gamut from asking
about understanding basic concepts of GIS, to queries about the use of
GIS in the curriculum; in research; with room for open ended comments
at the end.
Best regards,
