"geography--bibliography" and "academic libraries--book lists"
seem to be the appropriate subject headings. Below
are 3 I know about - am sure other persons will know
about more current ones.
Books for college libraries : a core collection of 50,000 titles. 3rd ed.
Chicago : American Library Association, 1988.
Choice's outstanding academic books, 1992-1997 : reviews of scholarly titles
that every library should own / edited by Rebecca Ann Bartlett. Chicago :
Association of College and Research Libraries, 1998.
Geographical bibliography for American libraries / edited by Chauncy D.
Harris ... [et al.] ; with assistance from Susan Fifer Canby, Phillip J.
Parent, Steven S. Stettes. Washington, D.C. : Association of American
Geographers, 1985.
