When figuring the weight of map cases and maps, I have always used a chart
in Bahn, Catherine. Map libraries--space and equipment in SLA Geography &
Map Division Bulletin, 1961, no. 46, p.3-17. It was reprinted in
Drazniowsky, Roman. Map librarianship: Readings. Metuchen, NJ: scarecrow
Press, 1975, p. 364-84. I don't know the exact page, but the chart shows
weights for increasing stacks of map cases.
