Often these things are 'repurposing' of older attributes. And I
am not
up on my non-Christian pantheons (I used to know a lot of the
Greek/Roman and Norse ones, but honey child, there are so many
others
that demand equal time that I don't worry about them any longer).
Patron saints are another thing, though. St Nicholas (aka, Saint
Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, aka Santa Claus) is the patron saint of
mariners. It seems to me that part of that purview would include
charts
and maps.

Hello MAPS-Listers!
I have a question for you all (two, actually). This is for a
personal
collage project of mine. I am also posting this to the Facebook
bunch,
as there is not complete overlap there.
Are there gods or patron saints of mapping and aerial
photography? If
so, who are they? What mythic tradition do/would they come from?
If not, what attributes would they have? I can think of the obvious
ones, but I'd really appreciate some suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your help!
