RE: Metadata standards
Can someone point me to information regarding the organization of georeferenced imagery. I work for an aerial imagery company called Pictometry. We make a unique product involving oblique georeferenced aerial photography. I am looking for adopted standards that will aid in organizing and preserving our imagery for the future. We currently use proprietary metadata tagging methods and I want to propose something more universal that would not only meet our needs, but prepare us for the future. We take pictures of entire counties at a time and our "libraries" (a collection of imagery for a county) have reached an upper limit of around 100,000 high res images that can total 250GB or more of data.
Someone refered me to http://www.fgdc.gov/ in another group which I thought was helpful. Wondering if you all knew of any other resources I could read.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
