I had initially sent this information privately to Barbara Weatherall,
based on the phrasing of the query. Perhaps I should have posted it
publicly from the outset. David Rumsey's site has an 1836 "New Map of
Missouri" (http://www.davidrumsey.com/maps2752.html) and an 1845
Meyer--basically the Tanner--" Neueste Karte von Missouri"
(http://www.davidrumsey.com/maps535.html). The latter has the
place-names in English. Also, these are handy for class-work, since you
can download the map in a Mr. Sid format, and convert to TIFF (or other)
format. The copyright information is at the bottom of each entry.
