Dear Fiona,
A couple of suggestions: find an antiquarian print/book auctioneer
('antiquarian' here referring to the material - not the person!), or
look at
http://www.maprecord.com/ (and locate a copy of the accumulated
auction/sales prices on CD-ROM).
Sincerely
(Mr) Francis Herbert (Curator of Maps, RGS-IBG)

Subject: Map appraisals?

Hi all,
I need to appraise the financial value of a couple of maps and don't
know where to begin. One of them is of pre-famine Ireland, showing the
population to be 7 million, twice that of today!
I'll be grateful for help.
