This isn't exactly a map story, but perhaps you can
use it. In a deed written in Grundy Co. Tenn. ca.
1850, John Layne described the boundaries of the
tract he was selling by "beginning at the point where I
now sit on my horse....." Tennessee is a metes and
bounds state, so our land descriptions often leave a
lot to be desired. Layne, however, hit rock bottom!
