ANNOUNCEMENT
Application packages are now available for the 1997 Competitive
Cooperative Agreeements Program (CCAP) sponsored by the Federal
Geographic Data Committee (FGDC). The purpose of this program is to
facilitate and foster partnerships and alliances within and among
various public and private organizations to assist in building the NSDI.
Proposals must involve teaming with two or more organizations.
Participants are expected to cost share in the project. Applications may
be submitted by State and local government agencies, educational
institutions, private firms, private foundations, and Federally
acknowledged or state-recognized Native American tribes or groups.
The 1997 CCAP program focuses on the creation of distributed
clearinghouses of geographic data, the use and promulgation of data
standards, the implementation of a data framework, and the development
of education and training programs related to the NSDI. Applications
must be received by March 7, 1997.
