     Dear fellow subscribers:
 
     Due to non-receipt here of external emails from around Friday
     afternoon last until yesterday noon we may not be aware of either
     exciting breakthroughs, or of intriguing questions, in cartography
     during this period.  If anyone feels that my colleagues (David McNeill
     and Huw Thomas) or myself have missed out - or have not responded to
