There is a list of publications issued by the Survey of India that came
out sometime in the 1910s, I believe, (if this is indeed a Survey of
India item) but finding that list would probably be even more difficult.
Survey maps usually have the name of the then current Surveyor General
of India printed directly under the center of the map. Thus the P.
Morris?? Have you tried the India Office Library, or the Ames Library at
the Univ. of Minnesota? Sorry for the lack of concretions, just going by
memory.

One of our clients wants us to track down an old atlas and we don't
have a lot to go on. It was published around the start of the century
and contains a "General Survey of India". They also gave me the name
Philip Morris, who is thought to be the cartographer. That
unfortunately is all the information I have. Does this ring any bells
with anyone in maps-l land? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
