Job description:
GET OUT OF THE RAT RACE!  Tillamook County is located on the North
Coast of Oregon.  It's beautiful here -- five major rivers and many
streams, 75 miles of coastline, hiking and hunting in the Coast Range
Mountains.  Big city shopping, etc., is available in the Portland
Metro Area, only 75 miles away.  We're far enough out of Portland not
to be a suburb, and close enough so that you don't feel as though
you've fallen off the edge of the world!  Yeah, it rains a lot in the
Winter, but it's exquisitely green all year long.  The weather is
temperate -- extremes of heat or cold rarely happen!

The GIS Cartographer prepares and maintains cadastral maps and
records that assist the Assessor's Office in identification ,
inventory and mapping of land for the assessment and valuation of
property.  This classification prepares a wide avaiety of
cartographic maps and solves problems requiring knowledge of
surveying, mapping and legal ownership.  Performs all types of
cartographic functions from basic preparation of partitions,
segregations, and consolidations to more complex projectsrequiring
research and resolution of ownership, boundary and taxing district
issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:  This position requires an Associate's Degree in
cartography, drafting, land surveying, or a related field, and one
year of related work experience that involves work with GIS software
(prefer ARC Info).  SALARY RANGE: $2373-$3029/mo plus excellent
benefits, including employer-paid retirement.  CLOSING DATE:  July
