David and others,
We're running it, along with a couple of other programs in our Public
Documents and maps department, on a non-networked "legacy"
workstation. This machine only runs Dos 6.22 and Windows 3.1.
I probably go for the NIMA web site usually, although the interface
can be more awkward depending on the question. For those
genealogy questions you can't drag a box around eastern Europe, can
you? And, I think it's been out of order (i.e., "down") at times when
I've gone there.
