Dear Colleagues,
Having gotten hold of my brother's digital camera I could not resist starting
to photograph my cartifact collection and converting them to .jpg-files for the
Internet. The results are not always as sharp as I want them to be (read the
intro: "A phenomenology of cartifacts"). But after more than 100 files I think
I can present a suitable selection to your cartifactual curiosity under URL:
http://www.konbib.nl/persons/jan-smits/cartifact/list.html
I have at least another 100 to go (for a big part textiles) and hope to add them
in the coming weeks. For some of the smaller objects (tie-pins, coins, etc.) I
have to find another solution, e.g. photographing and then scanning, but that will
be a later worry.
Have fun now,
Jan Smits
