If an academic institution, is the collection part of the main library
or an academic department? Main Library
If the collection is part of the main library, which unit is it under
(Example; Gov. Docs., Reference): N/A
If the collection is part of an academic department, which department?
Number of maps: 1,758
Number of aerial photographs: 0
Number of full-time staff: 0--it is part of the duties of a full-time librarian, but we don't have a map librarian as such
Hope this helps,

Hello All,
Sorry the about the rude subject line and abrupt message, but I'm in
need of some statistics to present to our Provost on short notice and I
haven't found a current list of map library collection statistics.
I would like to have the following information about your collections
(Using my library as an example):
Name: Cartographic Information Center
Institution: Louisiana State University
If an academic institution, is the collection part of the main library
or an academic department? Academic Department
If the collection is part of the main library, which unit is it under
(Example; Gov. Docs., Reference): N/A
If the collection is part of an academic department, which department?
Geography & Anthropology
Number of maps: 347,786
Number of aerial photographs: 124,698
Number of full-time staff: 1
I will send a compilation of the replies to the list.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
John
