Not an index, but very useful is Carl Ritter, Geographisch-statisches
Lexicon (1905). A Google search shows a version on the Web accompanied

Question: I am working with a number of "Grossblatt" [1:100,000]
maps from the classic series:
_*/Karte des Deutschen Reiches/*_
- started ca 1880's and continued into the 1940's.
Do you know of a town index to this great series ?
Sincerely,
Ken Craft
