Chris,
Try this: www.ideal.com
We have two of their Contex scanners. A Cougar 36 model and a 5 year
old model. Both are great. If Ideal offers additional warranty at time
of purchase, take it. It is much more expensive to get a service
contract later on.

Subject: Large format color scanner query

Hello,
We are looking to acquire a large-format color scanner, and I wondered
if
list members might be willing to offer any advice? I have reviewed the
maps-l archives for the last few years, and I'm aware this subject has
cropped up before, but with only brief suggestions, and nothing that
recent.
Ideally we would like a sheet-feed scanner, 36 inches wide or greater,
that
can scan up to 400 dpi in color and greyscale, to standard image
formats
including TIFF. We already have a large-format colour printer (HP 500
PS),
so we would not be looking for an integrated scanner/printer option.
Many thanks in advance,
Chris
