A quick check of our correspondence files appears to indicate that the LC, Geography and Map Division has not received an inquiry concerning this topic in the last month.
Reference requests are "usually" answered the same day.

Hi,
I have a patron looking for a map of Kashmir, published before 1978. She has
an incomplete citation, which I've included below. We've searched WorldCat
and the British Library, and she submitted a reference request form to LC
the other day, but has not heard back from them yet.
"The only source I have describes the map in question as a "one-inch to
four-mile scale tourist map of Northern Kashmir, printed in the USA,"
published before 1978."
Any ideas? Other places to look or likely publishers to research?
Thank you!
Katie
