Subject: Error report or edit?

We have a copy of a US Geological Survey map for which there seems to be an
OCLC record--all bibligraphic points match, including the ISBN. However,
the description is for transverse Mercator projection, but our copy is in
polyconic proj.

We haven't much map expertise here--should this be reported to OCLC as a
transcription error, or should we just edit the projection data to reflect
what we have?

Thanks.
