In response to Connie Manson's inquiry about lengths of Washington rivers:

Try contacting the North Pacific Regional Headquarters of the Northwestern
Division (formerly the North Pacific Division) of the Corps of Engineers at
Portland. I have 1991 information indicating that they hold reports
compiled by (a) the Hydrology Subcommittee of the Columbia Basin
Inter-Agency Committee and (b) the Hydrology and Hydraulics Committee of
the Pacific Northwest River Basins Commission. Both groups of reports
includes river mile index volumes, some 22 in the list I have, including a
number for Washington streams. Hopefully at least some of these will
provide the info you need. I can fax you a copy of the list, if you like.

Most of these river mile indexes date from the 1960s and all were listed as
out-of-print at the time of my 1991 inquiry.. I do not know if there have
been any revisions or additional compilations.

Hope this helps.
