New Practices in Performance and Technology:
This intensive laboratory offers young artists the unique opportunity to create interdisciplinary work through the lens of digital media. Guided by professional artists whose practices            blend dance, performance, sound, visual art and installation, students investigate technology as a language of new possibilities for collaboration and creativity. The Institute provides unique access to our extraordinary video archive of performance documentation, bringing to light The Kitchen?s major role as a center of multimedia activity for 30 years.

The Institute?s curriculum features hands-on workshops and sessions on contemporary theory and criticism. Mentoring and daily interaction with visionary artists create a stimulating environment in which students can challenge, create and support each other in their growth as makers, activists, and educators.
