Join us on Thursday, June 26th at 2 p.m. in G5 Aderhold Hall for a presentation on
research being conducted by the College of Education in Mexico. In addition to a
presentation, this will also be the debut of a short documentary film entitled, "Somos
Pobres Pero No Hay Pobreza Aqui" ("We are poor, but there is no poverty here."),
created during recent visits to the same communities being studied. Supported by
ICE, an interdisciplinary unit for exploration in the arts at the University of Georgia,
"Somos" follows a day in the life of two rural Mexican school teachers. After viewing
the film, we will have a question and answer session for discussing issues of
teaching, learning and culture.

Presenters:

Dr. Lynn Bryan, Associate Professor of Science Education
Kathryn Hammond, Videographer and Creator of the Documentary
