Two weeks ago, Los Angeles visiting sculptor and performance artist Martin Kersels,
rearranged the Luminous Object.  Now it is your turn!

Modern Convenience: Luminous Object I

Modern Convenience: Luminous Object I is a materials departure from Dunphy’s
upholstered naugahyde installations yet Luminous Object I engages in the same
playful interaction, site specific approach towards a hybrid of the merging of design
and art as well as a witty critique of the modernist canon.
800 injection-molded acrylic pegs in Dunphy’s candy-colors light up a geometric
configuration designed on a stainless steel perforated sheet.

Luminous Object II, the edition piece for this project is hands-on executive desktop
toy.  A stainless steel frame sits perched on a table surface complete with a set of
acrylic pegs for the viewer to design their own pattern.
