Dear ICE Members:

I received notes from many of you concerning the committee you would
like to serve. Thank you. We do have a couple of changes in our
ICE committee. Lanny Webb, Graphic Design will replace Susan Roberts
and Flint Buchanan a graduate student in art has also been added.

David Saltz, David Koffman and I met on Friday to discuss the charge of
the planning and projects committees. We had a lively and productive
meeting and assigned the committees as follows:

Planning Committee: David Koffman, Chair; Heather Abernathy, Ben
Reynolds, Gretchen Hupfel, Julie Checkaway, Jolene Davis, Ray Paolino,
Colin Bragg, Bethany Springer

Project Committee: Joshua Stewart, Leonard Ball, Mike Hussey, R.G.
Brown, Stephen Corey, Lanny Webb, Bala Sarasvati, Cicely Osborne, Carl
Martin, Kevin Young, Flint Buchanan

ex-officio members: Don Lowe, Hugh Ruppersburg, Stanley Longman,
Scott Shamp and Margaret Dahl.


David Koffman and Davis Saltz will soon be contacting you as to the
next meeting times and dates. The [log in to unmask] will be used
to post a summaries of committee meetings and for dialogue among our
group. On Friday we discussed the schedule for meetings and will plan
to meet as a whole group on the afternoon of November 29th so please
hold that date if possible and I'll get back on this soon. We also
discussed the idea of a summit involving leading people in the
area of interdisciplinary collaboration and some of our potential
partner programs next spring. We also want to plan a "walking tour" of
the various activities going on around campus and in Athens and of
course a virtual tour and project site on line. Of course, these ideas
will be advanced and developed in the committee meetings to come.
