Envisioning a Post-pandemic Future for Arts and Media Higher Education
Hosted by Yvonne Huoy, Learning Technologist, College of Fine Arts, University of Nevada Las Vegas

We can all sense that 2020 was a pivot point for the Arts and Media in Higher Education--that the future will not be like the past. To continue teaching and learning amidst lock-downs, we had to adapt centuries-old traditions to new technologies. This crucible for teaching, mentorship and creative practice is likely to have lasting effects and valuable lessons for us, with students and practitioners of creative Arts and Media adopting, adapting, and innovating 21st century technologies. What have we learned? What should stay, from our pre-pandemic practice and our mid-lockdown experiments? What needs to change post-pandemic?

To register for this conversation, please add your email address to this short conversational survey by noon EDT on Wednesday, March 10. You can answer briefly or at length, and you can amend your responses later if you wish. Your perspective and thoughts will seed our conversation.

"Vibrant Ecologies of Research"

In this special issue of Ground Works, we welcome submissions that focus on deepening our understanding of the institutional, social, and epistemological systems that effectively weave arts-based inquiry into the scholarly fabric of research. Vibrant ecologies of research call attention to the complex and nuanced articulations of how institutions, research groups, and organizations come together and what elements allow them to thrive. Thinking ecologically provides a systematic view while also attending to the material agencies, institutional architectures, and human interrelationships that nurture, foment, and/or cultivate deep disciplinary integration.
